Simons town situated approx 35 km from the city en route to the Cape Point nature reserve, is a quaint little town residence to the south african navy and steeped in nautical history. The main road is an assortment of shops, restaurants and coffee shops and there is a very renowned yacht club. Boulders beach which has one of the warmest waters in the cape hosts the colony of jackass penguins who swims freely in its waters.
