La Roca, a top 4 star establishment adjoining the Nelspruit Nature Reserve, offers luxurious accommodation with a friendly and warm ambience. Uninterrupted views over the reserve and distant mountains and yet only a short drive to the city centre, La Roca is the ideal base for discerning executives or romantic getaways.
Our individually decorated rooms combine a unique fusion of colours, textures and furniture inspired by travels throughout Africa and Asia.
Set in a large sub-tropical garden, the pool deck enjoys wonderful views – a little oasis within which to unwind from a long days work; to use as a base for exploring the Kruger Park and Panorama Route; or a convenient stop over on the way to Mozambique and Swaziland – both only one hour away.
Breakfast is served under our open air thatched lapa on the pool terrace, with panoramic views across the Nature Reserve – a peaceful and enchanting start to any day. We try to make our breakfast a ‘cut above’ the normal bacon and eggs of most guest houses – we serve one of eight deliciously different freshly cooked special’s together with an extensive self-service cold buffet. Vegetarian and halal breakfasts are catered for upon request.
You will wish you had stayed for longer and we will no doubt have the pleasure of welcoming you on more than one occasion!

Come and enjoy a refreshing splash in our large pool which is surrounded by impressive granite rocks and lush palm trees. The pool terrace enjoys magnificent views of the Nature Reserve and mountains over which the sun sets - a great spot to kick back with a relaxing sundowner from the fully licensed pool-bar.
La Roca is set in a lush sub-tropical garden strewn with huge granite boulders and there are plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to discover for some privacy or quiet-time. There is an enchanting area for log-fires or for group braais (BBQ’s) in the garden, or you can braai by the pool if you don’t want to walk too far to the bar! Local residents include an abundance of beautiful birds and lizards, a troop of cheeky vervet monkeys, bush-babies and mongoose. You may be lucky enough to spot some small buck, porcupines and wild boar which inhabit the Nature Reserve.
Directions:
Heading into Nelspruit on the N4, take the first turn off to left sign posted for Nelspruit centre and R40 Barberton.
When you arrive at the set of traffic lights for the R40, turn right onto the R40 towards Barberton.
Take the first turn left at the next set of traffic lights into Piet Retief St.
Continue straight on Piet Retief St. – over 2 sets of traffic lights, a small traffic circle and a 4-way stop street.
Immediately after the stop street, take the first turn right into Van Wijk St. – there is a sign for La Roca on your left.
Continue straight up the hill in Van Wijk St., go straight at the small traffic circle and La Roca is about 100m on your right (# 56) – look out for a long earthy red coloured wall with earthy yellow pillars and 2 green gates.
