Ekogaia Farm Cottages
Ekogaia Farm Cottages are unique, secluded, quiet spaces of rest and tranquillity on a private estate. We are situated halfway between the cosmopolitan buzz of the city and windswept beauty of Cape Point.
Ekogaia Farm Cottages provide a special sense of place and solace that our visitors find remarkable. They are nestled in private spaces within a large property, making it easy to believe you have discovered an isolated haven, far from civilisation. The sweeping mountain vistas and seascapes are framed by indigenous trees, providing a special natural environment.
The cottages are designed, built and run in order reduce your environmental footprint. Active and passive heating and cooling, solar water heaters, recycling and energy saving enhance your comfort and satisfaction.
All personal comforts are laid on for you to relax and soak in the restful peace and quiet. There is plenty of space for children to explore and for adults to enjoy. The great adventures, amenities, shops, restaurants and beaches of Cape Town lie just around the corner.

We have two cottages, Spiral and Helix, each self contained and private. The cottages are environmentally designed with solar water heating, energy conservation, as well as passive and active heating and cooling, according to season. The garden is huge, natural and is a haven for wildlife and birds, with over 50 species identified on site.
Spiral Cottage has its main bedroom (king sized bed) en suite (shared) with a queen and two single beds in the loft (6 total). Spiral has a fully fitted bathroom with separate shower.
Helix has a queen and a single bed in the loft area and a sleeper couch downstairs (5 total). Helix has a fully fitted bathroom with a shower over the bath.
We provide all bedding, towels, cooking facilties, microwave oven, stove and cooker, as well as all cooking implements, cutlery and crockery. The cottaages each have fridges, kettles and toasters, etc.
We also provide hair dryer, safe, ironing facilities, books and magazines, bedside lights, radio/ alarms, TV/DVD in spiral cottage.
There are braais and wood available for your use.
We also provide a bowl of fruit, milk, tea, filter coffee, rusks and sugar to our guests.
We have safe off street parking for you.
The cottages are serviced weekly or by arrangement.

GPS Position of centre of property - 34.04’50”S, 18.22’53”E
From Airport.
Take the N2 towards Cape Town from the airport. After about 8 km remain in the left hand lane and take the Kirstenbosch/ Muizenberg turnoff to the M3 south. Follow directions below, as from City/ Ou Kaapse Weg.
From City/ Ou Kaapse Weg
From end of M3 turn right and take signposts to Ou Kaapse Weg M64, which is the second intersection after turning off the M3.
Turn left onto Ou Kaapse Weg M64 and go over the mountain.
First turnoff to your right going down the mountain is Silvermine Road, about 5 ks past top of pass.
Turn into Silvermine Road. Go over crest of hill. On your right, about 100 meters before T junction at end of Silvermine Road is Village Lane. Turn Right into Village Lane.
Go 100 m and turn first right into Nthombeni Way.
Go through gates – gatepost marked Daniel Dale, Private.
The cottages are reached through an obscured entrance that you have to look hard to see, about 40 meters above the gateposts, in a gap in the hedge. Look carefully! They are marked Ekogaia Farm Cottages, No. 2. on wooden signs on the farm gate in the hedge.
From Fish Hoek/ Sun Valley.
From the Main Road (M4) Fish Hoek, take Kommetjie Road, M65, until you get to the traffic lights at the M64 intersection, where you turn right. Go through the Sun Valley traffic lights, heading towards town on Ou Kaapse Weg (M64), and take first road left after traffic lights, Noordhoek Main Road (M6) , toward Chapmans Peak Drive.
3 ks past BP Garage on your left, turn right into Silvermine road.
Go 100 m and turn first left into Village Lane.
Go 100 m and turn first right into Nthombeni Way.

From Chapmans Peak Drive.
At end of Chapmans Peak Drive (M6) you will enter Noordhoek. Take second Road to your left, Silvermine Road.
Go 100 m and turn first left into Village Lane.
Go 100 m and turn first right into Nthombeni Way.

Our rates are flexible depending on the length of stay, time of year and number of guests. As a guideline Helix is R650 per night over season and Spiral R850. However our longer term rates can drop to less than R150 per night. Please contact us and we will negotiate with you to give you the best available deal. We often run weekday or weekend specials so please ask about these.
